Squire enjoys some fun in the sun for Phoenix Open

Rockford resident John Hogan escaped Michigan’s wintery landscape to enjoy time with the good people of Arizona. He was there for the Phoenix Open golf tournament and couldn’t resist sharing the January 24 issue of The Rockford Squire Newspaper. This photo was taken Sunday, February 3 at Barry Goldwater Memorial Park in nearby Paradise Valley. The park includes native plants and a bronze statue of the five-term U.S. Senator and 1964 presidential candidate. In the first photo, it looks as though the Goldwater statue is trying to take the Squire from me. The weather was great - sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid-70s.  As for the 2013 Phoenix Open, it ran Jan. 31 through Feb. 3 in Scottsdale, Ariz. and was won by Phil Mickelson.
