Rockford High School is pleased to announce that Junior Matt Dileo has officially committed to play baseball at NCAA Division One Oakland University. Matt was recruited as a catcher. The Oakland Golden Grizzles, coached by John Musachio play in the Summit League. In 2012 Oakland defeated MAC Finalist’s CMU as well as Ohio, WMU, and Cincinnati. Since 1993 Oakland has had 19 players selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft including Rockford’s own Kyle Boehm.
Matt Dileo, the hard working catcher is rated as a Top 25 Prospect for the State of Michigan by Prep Baseball Report. He is recognized as an outstanding catching and throwing catcher that has the top pop times in Michigan by throwing an amazing 1.84. Matt is also outstanding in the classroom. He carries a 3.75 GPA.
In the summer, Dileo plays travel baseball for Rockford Team Ram. Team Ram is coached by Rockford High School Varsity Assistant Coach Steve Fusee.
Matt Dileo is the son of Frank and Marjorie Dileo of Rockford, Michigan.
