Recently, Beyond the Rock students entered into a Public Service Announcement (PSA) contest with the Michigan Rural Water Association (MRWA). The students were charged with coming up with a thirty second PSA that would highlight water conservation or little-known facts about water conservation to educate the public. The Rockford High School video production team took on the challenge and Cullan Jewell and Jake Feuerstein walked away with first place honors amongst 66 entries from across the state.

The students each received a $250 Visa gift card as well as receiving a $1,500 check for the TV Studio program. This is the second year that the BTR team has competed in the contest following a first place victory in last year’s competition. The contest greatly benefited the students in both an appreciation for this invaluable resource as well as enhancing their experience in the realm of competitive video production.
