Local students recognized for writing

KofCCassidy Fought, an eighth grade student at Our Lady of Consolation school, recently received the Knights of Columbus 2013 Essay Contest award. Emma Moore, sixth grader at OLC, won runner-up. Cassidy’s essay was “The Importance of Family.” Pictured are, from left to right, Norman Galang (OLC Knight), Cassidy Fought, Emma Moore and Dave Lawrence (OLC Grand Knight). “We are all very proud of them,” said mother Karen Fought.
