North Rockford Middle School Students of the Month

NRMS-Sarah-MunsonSarah Munson is a 6th grade student from our Fine Arts Magnet and the daughter of Steve and Lyn Munson. She has one sibling, Leah as well as a bunny, Davey, a dog, Champ, and frogs, Austin and Alex. Sarah attended Valley View Elementary and she is active in bowling and tennis. Sarah also enjoys writing, drawing, acting and playing the clarinet. She hopes to attend Kendall College one day to pursue a career as a professional illustrator. Some of Sarah’s favorites include 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Bell, eating fried rice, the movie “Little Manhattan”, reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid and listening to classical, jazz and pop music. Sarah is most proud of her drawing abilities and the person that she admires the most is her mom.

 

NRMS-Evan-PowersEvan Powers is a 6th grade student in our Community Service Magnet and the son of Kathleen and Scott Powers. He has three siblings, Marcus, Tessa and Lila, as well as a pet cat, Hanna and a fish. Evan attended Meadow Ridge Elementary, he is active in karate and also enjoys computer programming. Evan hopes to attend MIT one day to pursue a career as a computer engineer. Some of Evan’s favorites include band with Mr. McCarthy, eating doughnuts, the Harry Potter movies, the book Eragon and listening to classical music. Evan is most proud of his Bassoon skills and the person that he admires the most is Albert Einstein.

 

NRMS-Natalie-ClumNatalie Clum is a 7th grade student and the daughter of Angela and Shane Clum. She has three siblings, Makayla, Addison and Kierra as well as pets that include 7 chickens and 2 cats, Grizzly and Cheddar. Natalie attended Valley View Elementary and is active in tennis, basketball, and track at NRMS. Natalie also enjoys youth group, fishing, hunting and riding her four-wheeler. Natalie’s college of choice is Michigan State and she hopes to become a teacher one day. Some of Natalie’s favorites include her 2nd and 4th grade teacher Mrs. Helsen, eating pizza, the movie “Here Comes the Boom”, the book Touching Spirit Bear and listening to Christian Rock music. Natalie is most proud of her participation in sports and other activites and the person that she admires the most is grandma Phebus.

 

NRMS-William-RidderingWilliam Riddering is a 7th grade student and the son of Joe and Barb Riddering. He has two siblings, Michelle and Jennifer as well as two dogs and two cats. William attended Valley View Elementary and he is active in youth group and baseball. William’s college of choice is Michigan State and he hopes to become a professional baseball player one day. Some of William’s favorites include woodshop class with Mr. Larson, eating pasta, the movie “Happy Gilmore”, the book Where the Red Fern Grows, and listening to rock and roll music. William is most proud of being an Example in Excellence in elementary and the person that he admires the most is his grandpa.

 

NRMS-Sierra-OlejniczakSierra Olejniczak is an 8th grade student and the daughter of Jody and Scott Olejniczak. She has two siblings, Sidney and Sage as well as 2 dogs, Molly and Bently. Sierra attended Valley View Elementary and is active in choir, acting, and softball. Sierra would like to attend a small theatre college and she hopes to become a writer, an actress or a psychiatrist one day. Some of her favorites include her 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Osborn, eating pickles, the movies “Titanic”, “Perks of Being a Wallflower”, and “Breakfast Club”, the book No Where But Up and listening to pop, hip hop and country music. Sierra is most proud of her hard work in school and the acting that she does, and the person that she admires the most is Selena Gomez.

 

NRMS-Cody-VanOrderCody VanOrder is an 8th grade student and the son of Michele Smith and Michael VanOrder. He has two siblings, Alexia and Shayleigh as well as 2 cats, Cuddles and Cali and a dog, Ciella. Cody attended Valley View elementary and is involved with the National Junior Honor Society at NRMS. Cody also enjoys hanging out with friends, bowling and playing video games. Cody would like to attend college and become a teacher. Some of Cody’s favorites include 5th grade teacher Mrs. Davison, eating shells and white cheddar pasta, the movie “Inception”, the Pendragon book series and listening to pop, country and rap music. Cody is most proud of his grades and working hard in school and the person that he admires the most is his mom.

The Squire is distributed through the U.S. Post Office every Thursday. We also deliver to in-town businesses and homes with paper carriers and news stands in our grocery stores and over thirty local shops.
