Camp Good Grief accepting applications

Hospice of Michigan is accepting applications for Camp Good Grief, a day camp designed to help children cope with the loss of a loved one.

The free one-day camp is being held on Friday, June 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Camp Newaygo, located at 5333 Centerline Road in Newaygo. Children ages 8-17 are invited to attend.

“At a time when they’re trying to fit in, the death of a loved one can make kids feel different and alone”, says Tangela Zielinski, grief support service manager at HOM. Camp Good Grief allows children to connect with others that are in a similar situation.

Hospice of Michigan grief professionals and trained volunteers facilitate the camp, which is open to all children who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
