Rockford Girls Water Polo captures conference title

Water-polo-2On April 30th, the Lady Rams were ready to go on Senior night and the final score reflected their excitement. The Rams defeated Forest Hill United by a final score of 17- 4. All of the seniors scored in this game; Adrianna Craft (5) goals, Marie Siegel (2) goals, Kristen Schnelle (2) goals, Elli Raymond and Kalia Lippencott each added a goal apiece. This senior group has led this young team throughout the season and their leadership has positioned this team to make a good run in the State tournament.

The Lady Rams travelled to Zeeland on May 2nd, looking to put away a conference title. Once again, the Lady Rams came ready to play and were not to be denied. Within the first 14 seconds of the game, Water-poloAdrainna Craft found the back of the net and added two more along with a goal by Megan Schremp. At the end of the first quarter Rockford was out to a 4-0 lead and would never look back. Kristen Schnelle and Adrianna each added goals in the second quarter and the Lady Rams went into halftime with a commanding 6-0 lead. The defensive intensity that this team has displayed over the season was on full display in this game. With goalie Elli Raymond playing her usual stellar play the rest of the defense stepped up and kept Zeeland out of their comfort zone. In the third quarter Megan Schremp scored twice and Adrianna Craft scored another of her game high five goals. Zeeland finally got on the board in the fourth quarter and Katelyn Arends added a goal for Rockford. The Lady Rams came away victorious with a 10-2 game and took the first step in winning the conference.
