It’s getting closer to May and activities at the Art Van Sports Complex are starting to heat up according to concessions manager Jill Kuzma.

“This weekend is a big three-day event,” Kuzma said. “It’s the National Youth Baseball championships, No. 2, presented by Game Day USA, set for this weekend. There will be five championship games at 4 p.m. and one age bracket game is at 6 p.m.”

Game Day USA had a tournament on April 15-16. United States Spectators Sports Association took over last weekend with an event.

The last two weekends were great and very busy,” Kuzma said.

All teams are given a three-game guarantee. It will be pool play plus playoffs. Team and individual awards for the top two teams for each age group will be presented.

“The country’s top travel baseball teams in 9U-14U compete annually at the National Youth Baseball championship,” Game Day USA says in special notes posted on its website. “No other event brings together a collection of champions to battle it out for one true championship quite like the NYBC.”

Game Day USA will return to Art Van Sports Complex May 12-14 for the Super Regionals. Next week USSA returns to Art Van Sports Complex for the West Michigan /Season Starter on May 6-7. That event will feature four divisions: 14 & under 12 & under and 10 and under.
