Rockford Boys Soccer continues to impress

By Shawn Leverett

Rockford Boys Soccer continued their OK Red conference season as they traveled to face the West Ottawa Panthers on September 5. During a cold, wet match the Rams allowed 1 goal in the first half.  The Rams started the second half strong when 3.5 minutes in, Leverett made a strong run and scored the Rams first and only goal of the game.  WO succeeded in sending a second shot past the keeper.  The final score was RHS 1 – WO 2.

The September 7 game brought the Grandville Bulldogs to Ram Stadium.  Just past the 6 minute mark, the Rams defensive line sent the ball up field where Pellerito finished strong, giving the Rams a 1-0 lead at half time.  The second half gave the Rams 2 more goals.  At minute 10, Pellerito assisted Corpe to increase the lead to RHS 2- Grandville 0. After many missed opportunities, the Rams once again found the back of the net as Carey slipped a rebounded shot thru the Grandville defenders to the waiting Pellerito.  The final score was RHS 3- Grandville 0.

On September 19, the Rams will host the EK Falcons.  This is youth night for the Rams.  Any youth wearing their soccer jersey (club or community youth soccer) will gain free admission.  Also, there will be a spirit basket raffle and many other fun activities.  On September 21, the Rams will host the Hudsonville Eagles.
