Rockford Riptide traveled with 60 athletes to Zeeland this past weekend to compete in the annual Boo Bash swim meet. Altogether, the team competed in over 250 individual events, as well as a number of relays.
Riptide had swimmers competing in the meet ranging across all group levels and ranging in ages from seven to seventeen years old. Many of the swimmers competed at times that were either their best or close to their best in their events.
At the end of the meet, the team walked away with seventeen state meet qualifying times, four of which were earned by Alex Richardson. Three each were earned by Ashley Lund, Conner Dedert and Addison Forbes. Two were earned by Alex Fisher, and one each by Gabrielle Shirley and Josie Geers.
“This is the first meet of the season for a lot of them. We still have some work to do, but it’s a great start to the season,” Head Coach Mike Cutler said. “We had a great number of best swims recorded at the Boo Bash, following a pretty spectacular Pentathlon meet last weekend.”
Riptide will be returning to action November 4th and 5th at Holland for the TYR Invitational.
