Bishop Hills residents spread joy by packing shoe box gifts

Residents at Bishop Hills joined with the youth group from Crossroads Church in Rockford to pack shoe box gifts for Operation Christmas Child.  They filled the boxes with school supplies, hygiene items, stuffed animals and other small toys.

These boxes, and thousands of others from our area, will be dropped off at Crossroads Church during National Collection week, November 13-20.  They will then be loaded on a semi, inspected at a processing center and then begin their journey around the globe.

Since 1993, over 146 million shoe boxes have been packed and delivered to over 150 countries.  For many of the children, this is the first gift they have ever received.  There’s still time to pack a box!
