Sparta man, member of the Tomb Guard in 1957
Specialist Third Class Donald E. Bradford, Sparta High School class of 1954, served at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in 1957. Bradford, who is a business man and resident of Sparta, commented that “The Experience of being a part of this historic tradition is one of the greatest of my life. I will always be thankful to my nation for giving me this honor and especially to the men and women who fought and died so that we might live freely in this great country.”
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is in Arlington National Cemetery and stands as a tribute to American soldiers who lost their lives.
