The Kent County Health Department (KCHD) will host a “Town Hall” style meeting on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 6PM. The meeting will take place in the gymnasium at the Freshman Center of Rockford Schools located at 4500 Kroes St. NE, Rockford MI 49341. This will be the second meeting hosted by KCHD regarding contaminated groundwater that is associated with historical waste from Wolverine Worldwide. The goal of the meeting is to serve the public and provide the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. Beginning at 4:00 p.m. people will be able to meet individually with representatives of the following agencies: Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, KCHD and Wolverine World Wide. No appointment will be necessary, and the private meetings will be held on a first come first served basis.
At 4:15 a news conference will be held in the media center of the Freshman Center. Representatives from the involved agencies will be on hand to discuss updates and answer questions.
At 6PM the town hall style meeting will begin in the auditorium. Each represented agency will provide a brief update on the status of the investigation. Members of the audience will then be invited to ask their questions directly of the panel. The meeting will end at 9PM.
