The Ike’s will hold their Annual Conservation Awards Banquet & Silent Auction Saturday March 3, 2018 at the Thousand Oaks Country Club & Restaurant in N.E. Grand Rapids.
The evening will include a buffet dinner with all the trimmings a program and awards, a great bucket raffle, and a BIG silent auction. Both the Raffle and S/A will have lots and lots of good stuff for everyone.
This event is open to public by pre-paid reservation only. So consider attending, the Ike’s always want to meet new folks that are interested in our “Mission” of “Conservation Education and Action” as defenders of Soil, Air, Woods, Waters and Wildlife.
The Ike’s, of the local Dwight Lydell Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America a nationwide sportsperson conservation non-profit group are celebrating their 81st year of conservation activism in West Michigan.
Once again we have an important “environmental” program “Journey to Zero”. This “journey” is all about Kent County completing a transition from “Landfill to an Integrated Solid Waste Management System for business’ and residents. The details of Composting, Material Recovery, Electronics & Appliances, Plastic and Paper, Construction Debris and finally Non-recoverable Waste will fully be explained by Darwin Bass backed by his 25 years of experience.
The evening begins at 5:30 pm with a social hour, bucket raffle and silent auction. Dinner begins at 7 with program and awards. Admission tickets are $35 per person, children are welcome and they will have a good time but there is no child specific admission priced ticket.
