Concealed Carrier shoots himself in leg

On July 29, 2018, the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accidental shooting at Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park in Bowne Township. The victim, a current CPL holder, accidentally discharged a pistol striking himself in the leg. The incident was isolated to a single victim and no additional injuries were reported. The victim was transported to Butterworth Hospital by ambulance for treatment and his condition is unknown at the time of this release. The Sheriff’s Office will forward the information onto the Prosecutor’s Office for review upon completion of the investigation.
