Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Ranked by U.S. News & World Report in Six Specialty Areas

U.S. News & World Report has again included Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in its 2018 Best Children’s Hospital rankings, with a total of six specialty areas being recognized this year. This is the seventh year the hospital has been included.

The 2018-19 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings are being published online. Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital ranked among the best nationally in the following categories:

Pediatrics: Cancer

Pediatrics: Cardiology & Heart Surgery

Pediatrics: Nephrology

Pediatrics: Orthopedics

Pediatrics: Pulmonology

Pediatrics: Urology

The U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals ranks the top 50 pediatric facilities across the U.S.  Based on clinical data and a survey of pediatric specialists, the ranking methodology considers clinical outcomes, such as mortality and infection rates, efficiency and coordination of care delivery and compliance with best practices.

U.S. News introduced the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in 2007 to help families of children with rare or life-threatening illnesses find the best medical care available. They are the only comprehensive source of quality-related information on U.S. pediatric centers.

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is a 234-bed regional referral center and teaching hospital.
