RHS Ski Team Welcomes New Skiers

The 2018 RHS Ski team at pre-season training camp last winter.

Come and join us for an informational meeting at RHS at 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 4th.  Racing experience is not required!  If you love skiing and would like to become a member of a small, fun team sport please come and check us out.  Each year we teach students new to the sport of downhill ski racing the techniques to go fast and have fun.  Last season’s team saw tremendous growth with many first-time racers.

Coach Ashleigh Stewart will begin her third season as head coach of the boys and girls teams, and is eager to share her many years of racing experience with those wanting to learn.  Last year the Rams qualified three racers for the state meet and Junior Nick Rupert brought home a State Championship in the Giant Slalom.  The small size of our team makes it possible for those new to racing to get personalized coaching and offers great potential for earning a Varsity Letter.  (All this while having fun enjoying the best of our Michigan winter weather.)

The informational meeting will be held in the LGI Room at RHS at 7:00, Thursday, October 4th.  We hope to see you there.  For additional information you may contact the RHS Athletics Office at 616-863-6040, HYPERLINK “mailto:terickson@rockfordschools.org”terickson@rockfordschools.org or ashleigh.k.stewart@gmail.com.
