North Kent Community Toastmasters celebrate 20th Anniversary

North Kent Community Toastmasters celebrated twenty years as the leading club in northern Kent County.  Their Anniversary Open House was held at their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 16 at 7:00 PM.  Al Pratt, Executive Director, Rockford Area Museum, was their special guest speaker.

The members of North Kent Toastmasters are celebrating twenty years of grooming and growing their communication and leadership skills.  After a ninety-year history of success in creating leaders and speakers, the international organization has implemented a new, online program — Pathways.

Pathways is a revitalized program with a renewed focus on leadership — learning competencies that have immediate, real-world applications using an online platform.  The member selects a Path that best fits within his/her personal and professional goals. Within the five levels of each Path are projects both in and outside the club setting which are geared to build skills and then demonstrate them.  The five core competencies are public speaking, interpersonal communication, management, strategic leadership, and confidence.  Members reach their goals through practice in a supportive, social environment.

North Kent Toastmasters invite you to visit any time.  Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month at 7:00 pm to 8:45 pm at the Bella Vista Church, 5100 Belding Road, Rockford.  Follow the signs to Room 6. For more information about the club, please visit www.nkctm.org.  Find them on Facebook and meet them on Meetup.
