Officer Sam Foster began her career with the Rockford Department of Public Safety in May 2015, and on Monday, December 10, 2018 she was given a heartfelt farewell by Chief Dave Jones and fellow Rockford officers at City Hall.

Jones said Foster began as a part time officer after completing the police academy at Ferris State University. He said since, Foster has completed training as a medical first responder and a license fire fighter.

“She completed her law degree this month and will pursue a career in law,” Jones stated. Jones praised Foster’s commitment and competence in her career here in Rockford and said the department will miss her and wish her the best. Jones and Sergeant Aaron Sawyer and Lieutenant Dave Robinson presented Foster with a shadow box fellow officers had made for her as a token of her time with the department. The presentation took place at the beginning of the regular meeting of Rockford City Council.
