Rockford American Legion Post Recognizes Eagle Scouts

American Legion, Department of Michigan Scouting Committee Chairman Clyde Sinclair and Asst. Scout Master Jim Penrod, both members of Rockford American Legion Post 102, present Eagle Scouts and brothers, Brendan and Kyler Smith, with Citations of Good Citizenship upon earning the Eagle Scout rank.

As scouts, both Brendan and Kyler excelled at the challenges and opportunities presented, each earning 45 merit badges and 5 religious awards, in addition to numerous other awards.  Brendan and Kyler are also members of Scouting’s honor society, the Order of the Arrow.

The brothers are both members of Scout Troop 283 chartered by the Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church located in Belmont, Michigan and are the sons of Shane and Denise Smith.

Eagle Scout is the highest achievement, or rank, attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Only four percent of Boy Scouts are granted this rank.
