East Rockford Middle School April students of the month

Avery Weisman, 6th Grade, is the daughter of Andy and Shelley and has a sister named Emmery. She also has a dog named Lucy and two guinea pigs named Nugget and Al. Her favorite activities are horseback riding, tennis, skateboarding and acting. Avery’s favorite class is Math and E.L.A.. Avery’s favorite food is carmel apples and her dream vacation would be to visit Paris, France. When she is older she would love to be a vet or an actress. A fun fact about Avery is that she can speak pig latin fluently. Her favorite thing about ERMS are all the great teachers and meeting new people every day! She admires her grandparents the most because of all of their adventures they share with her.

Joey Stoddard, 6th Grade, is the son of Aaron and Kristin and has two sisters named Leah and Marie. He also has a dog named Brady. Joey is involved in soccer, downhill skiing, basketball and swimming. His favorite class is math because he likes solving problems. Joey’s favorite food is pizza and his favorite book series is The Maze Runner. His dream vacation would be to go to Colorado for skiing and when he is older he wants to be a professional soccer player. His favorite thing about ERMS is meeting friends from other schools and he is most proud of his mom because she started her own business.

Kate Doerr, 7th Grade, is the daughter of Kathy and Greg Doerr and has two siblings named Colton and Sam. She also has a dog named Bella. Kate plays basketball, volleyball and softball and also plays on a travel softball team. Her favorite class is speech and drama with Mrs. Klaes because it is fun to get up in front of everyone and perform. She loves mac and cheese, the colors blue and periwinkle. She also loves the show The Office! Her dream vacation would be to go to Italy or Punta Cana. When she is older, she would love to be a surgeon. Her favorite thing about ERMS are the teachers and staff and she admires her parents the most because they keep her up and active!

Trevor Hobbs, 7th Grade, is the son of Jaci Smith and has one sister who is a 4th grader at Meadow Ridge. Trevor likes to play basketball and golf and he loves to go camping in the summer. He also enjoys sports camps with his friends. Trevor’s favorite class is math and his favorite elective class is P.E.. Trevor likes chicken alfredo and the color blue. He also enjoys up beat music and University of Michigan football. His dream vacation would be to visit Hawaii and when he is older he would love to be a professional sports player. His favorite thing about ERMS it he school atmosphere and he admires his mom the most because she supports him in everything and encourages him to step out of his comfort zone.

Ashlyn Warmington, 8th Grade, is the daughter of Abby and Kyle and has one brother named Mac. She also has a dog named Toby. Ashlyn is involved in the Rockford Middle School Dance team, the ERMS chorale, Dance Dimensions and the BHBC Easter drama. She couldn’t pick one favorite class because she likes them all! Her favorite food is sushi and she likes the colors blue or pink. She also likes Christian music. Ashlyn’s dream vacation would be to go to Iceland or somewhere with a beach. She would like to be a preschool teacher when she is older. She likes the friendships and ERMS the most and she admires her grandparents the most because they are the strongest, most humble and loving people she knows

Robert Werkema, 8th Grade, is the son of Sarah and Robert Werkema and has two sisters named Allison and Andrea. He also has eleven chickens and a cat named Odyssey. He plays guitar in Jazz band at the high school, is involved in karate, robotics competitions, cross country and loves to do computer programming. His favorite class is Mr. Ouellette’s honors geometry class! His favorite color is gray and his favorite pet chicken is April, because she was born on Easter! His dream vacation would be to go back to the Swiss Alps and when he is older he would love to be an ethical hacker, video game developer or aerospace engineer. His favorite thing about ERMS are the teachers and he admires his grandpa, who passed away, because he devoted his life to serving others.
