Cheryl Lynn Adkison born June 30, 1953 went to heaven on July 20, 2019 after a lifetime of health struggles. Cheryl met Bob Adkison and they married February 2, 1973. They were extremely happily married for 41 years. Bob preceded Cheryl in death on April 30, 2014.
Cheryl worked for a short time before having children at the Secretary of State, but in 1976 Jimmy came along and she decided to be a stay at home mom. 1979 brought Kelli along and completed their family. She devoted her years to teaching and caring for her children.
If you know Cheryl, you’ll agree that sassy hardly describes her. Even her nurses in her final days were impressed with her spirit and spunk. Everyone enjoyed the back-and-forth banter with Cheryl until she decided it was time to be pain free. Her life and heart were so big and colorful I could write a book, but she was all about keeping it short and simple. So it is with deep sorrow, huge love, tears, and even a few laughs that we inform you that….
Cheryl has taken her final breath and is now dancing with her beloved Bob in heaven for eternity. We will celebrate Cheryl the mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and special friend on Wednesday, August 7th at 3:00 at the American Legion Glen Hill post 287, 91 N. 1st St. Cedar Springs, MI. Please join us for a toast and a light dinner in her honor.
Cheryl is survived by her son Jim(Stefanie) Adkison, daughter Kelli(Troy) Rose, Sister Penny(Mark) Brighton, brother in Law John Gates, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 6 Grandchildren, and some very special friends. In Lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Legion post 287 in Cedar Springs.
