Linney, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 17. The bikers were among those who attended the man’s service at Pederson Funeral Home and later proceeded to his interment at Rosedale Memorial Park.

Linney, age 63, was a 1966 graduate of Rockford High School, who served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He had a lifelong love of motorcycles and loved to ride his Harley with his wife, Ginny. He was a mechanic and proud owner of SuperCycle Engineering. His specialty was racing and repairing motorcycles.

The outdoorsman was also an avid hunter. He earned his pilots license and owned a 1964 Piper Cherokee. He is survived by his loving wife, Ginny Patterson; daughter, Jennifer Patterson; brother, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Pearl Davenport; a sister, Donna Curice; and brother, Mark Davenport.

In loving memory of our beautiful baby girl, Jessica Grace Soupal, who passed away eight years ago on March 29, 2003.

I saw a little girl today,
She reminded me of you.
Apple cheeks, rose-bud lips,
And pretty eyes of blue.
Our eyes met for a moment,
I smiled, she smiled too.
Then, before I knew it,
She disappeared from view.
I sat a little longer,
Just taking it all in.
I really can’t help but wonder,
How different life would’ve been.
If you were still here with me,Not in Heaven up above.
You’d make my life so happy,
I’d give you so much love.
But that is not reality,
Not part of God’s big plan.
So I am left just missing you,
Until we meet again.

Sadly missed and deeply loved by Mom, Dad,
Thomas, Laurin and Casey

Our marriage has forever changed me… and the painful loss of his earthly life has forever changed me. I am thankful for the hope in heaven we have and for a day when all wrong things will be made right. We grieve so deeply for we have loved so deeply.

(I am truly humbled and thankful for my family, friends, co-workers, church, and the Rockford community for embracing our family during these last 12 months. We are blessed and eternally grateful.)
