Students invent new monkey drink

Leave it up to the students to come up with a delicious drink that is so yummy and warm for the tummy. Delaney, Curly, Bailey and Luke named it the “Fruitin Monkey,” which includes the ingredients chocolate, banana, marshmallows and, of course, extra chocolate recommended. Please don’t try to make this drink at home—leave it to the pros at Epic. Seemed as though these students got a little strung after their first cup!

Sweet signs of summer

TASTE OF SUMMER—Michigan State Police Trooper Mike Umphrey buys a glass of lemonade from a young entrepreneur. Paying $3 for the beverage, which was offered for 25 cents a cup, earns Umphrey the Squire’s title “Super Nice Guy.” He also made a point to tell the stand’s owner that the lemonade was delicious.

Patrick and Peggy Bekker of Belmont purchase a Father’s Day treat of Gourmet Jerky from Rockford Farm Market vendor Kathy Bueche. From their state-certified kitchen in Marne, Mich., Gourmet Jerky, a long-time Rockford market vendor, uses beef, pork, chicken, deer, elk and buffalo to produce an amazing variety of flavored jerky.
