Aunt Candy of Aunt Candy’s Toy Company was thrilled with the turnout during the last weekend of Harvest Festival, especially the tons of kids in the annual costume contest. The Denhofs, with their son John and his family, sailed the Aegean Sea along the Turkish coastline for a week. They also explored the mosques, palace, mausoleums and the ruins of the only remaining “Ancient Wonders of the World” in Instanbul and Bodrum. A belly-dance show completed a grand time amongst the friendly people of Turkey.
The 24th annual Grand Rogue Military Encampment has been cancelled in the past due to extreme flooding, but this year’s event was a little soggy due to rain showers. A historic bonanza of knowledge and authentic clothes and equipment showed visitors what life was like before electricity, both in military reenactment and family settings. [...]
