NRMS cross-country teams take first, second

North Rockford Middle School (NRMS) girls cross-country team member, Maja Hill, is about to cross the finish line in first place on Sept. 22 at an OK Red dual meet hosted by Byron Center Middle School. Participating were middle school boys and girls teams from Byron Center, Holland Christian, NRMS, and West Ottawa. After breaking free of the pack of 64 girls at the start of the race, Hill led the entire two-mile distance, crossing the finish line with a time of 13:52. The constantly improving NRMS teams had a great afternoon. The boys team took first place and the girls took second place.

Monday night, Sept. 13, the Rockford High School gymnasium featured two of Michigan’s top Class A volleyball programs in the state when the visiting Portage Central Mustangs took on the Rockford Rams. Rockford boys cross country gears up for challenging season

The Rockford boys ran a tough race Friday afternoon, Sept. 17, at the Spartan Invitational held at the Forest Akers East Golf Course in East Lansing. Running in the Elite Division, this meet provided an opportunity to assess the competition the Rams will face against some top talents from across the state. They will also face some strong local teams, especially in the face of big changes to the varsity line-up, as last year’s strong senior runners have moved on to college teams.
