Algoma Baptist church is once again inviting the public to a very unusual dinner with a menu that is sure to please and surprise. The annual Wild Game Dinner will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium of the church, located at 10515 Grange Avenue (south of 13 Mile Road between Algoma Avenue and Pine Island Drive). The speaker for this year’s dinner is Kurt Loosenort, who will talk about being rescued in a canoe on Lake Superior. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased in advance from the church office at (616) 866-1274 or from Pastor Dave at (616) 205-5008. Please bring a wild game dish to pass. Door prizes will be given away. This year hear Bill Jenkin III, author of Lessons Learned in the Woods. In addition to the dinner speaker and Wild Game Mount Wall of Fame, there are also a variety of door prizes to be won. Speaker Bill Jenkin III was raised in the heart of the Rockies in western Montana. Growing up in the mountains and isolated from towns and even neighbors, Bill would disappear into the wilderness for long stretches of time. His childhood offered abundant opportunities to observe nature in its majesty and beauty, sparking an early appreciation for God’s creation. Bill has enjoyed many exciting, thrilling and dangerous adventures in the woods, which he loves to share with others. He finds humor and practical advice in his experiences.
