Mel and Beverly (Powell) Wood were married 60 years ago on June 17, 1955. They were Rockford High School sweethearts and graduates and raised their family in Rockford. They were treated to a home cooked celebration dinner by daughter Debra Napieralski. Their other children are Renee (Bob) English and Doug Wood. They are also loved by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren
Sharpes celebrate 50 years Joe and Betty Sharpe will celebrate 50 years of marriage on July 28, 2012. They share in this celebration with their children, Tom (Cindy) Sharpe and Christy Sharpe. They also have two beautiful granddaughters, Maggie Marie and Emma Jo Sharpe. Graduating from Greenville High School in 1961, the couple moved to Rockford after marriage and still reside there today. They enjoy motorcycle trips, golfing, camping and sharing laughs with their good friends and family.
Jones J.E. and Wilma (Willie) Jones of Chesterfield, Mich., formerly of Rockford, will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on July 7, 2012 at the open shelter at Townsend Park, Cannonsburg, from 1 p.m. until whenever. They were married on February 16, 1952 in Lansing. In the late 1950s, they moved to their home on Ramsdell where they raised their four children: Jack, Tim, Cindy and Debbi. All four of them graduated from Rockford High School. J.E. spent 20 years volunteering for the Cannon Township Fire Department. Willie was a Girl Scout leader for several years and a member of the Mother’s Club at Cannonsburg Elementary School. They both worked many years on the fire department’s famous pancake dinners and have several fond memories of those dinners. Both have been members of Bostwick Lake Congregational Church, where they attended while they lived in the Rockford area. J.E and Wilma have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and are anticipating the arrival of one more in late August. The family would like to extend an invitation to anyone they might have missed. Tim and Joan Farmer celebrate 50th anniversary Tim and Joan Farmer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 9, 2011. They were joined in marriage on September 9, 1961 at Bethany Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Mich. They celebrated this summer on July 17 with an open house at Rockford Baptist Church. Many of their family and friends were in attendance. The Farmers are the parents of Tim Farmer of Grand Rapids, Ron and Shawn Aulbach of Rockford, and Chris and Shanna Hansen of Bliss, N.Y. They are the grandparents of AnnMarie, Brennan, AisLynn, Brysonn and Braylenn Aulbach, and Caleb, Lucas, Isaac, Micah and Shayla Hansen. Tim and Joan currently reside in Newaygo and spend their winters in Melbourne Beach, Fla. They enjoy spending time with family and many friends, are active at Rockford Baptist Church and enjoy outdoor activities.
