Bob Seger

Squire photographer catches Seger act

Squire photographer Tom Scott was again granted a media pass with the understanding The Rockford Squire be the only publication to publish his photos. This is his second big concert at the Van Andel, following a photo shoot with Lady Gaga in concert last month. As expected, Bob Seger rocked the house for a sell-out crowd of well over 12,000 fans. Opening the show was Battle Creek’s own country music star Larry Ballard. Fans heard through the grapevine that Kid Rock was attending the show to enjoy the rock and roll of Seger and, sure enough, Rock joined Seger on stage for an electrifying rendition of “Real Mean Bottle” that brought the house down and the fans to their feet. The show went well over two hours and, of course, Seger played all his favorite hits from the ‘70s and ‘80s. At 65 years old, Seger still has his energy from the yesteryears and, with his raspy voice, fans were all taken back some 30 years ago, at least for the two-plus hours of the show.
