Nominations open for 2009 Kevin A. Kelly Award

September 10, 2009 // 0 Comments

Michigan’s Children, an independent, non-partisan, multi-issue advocacy organization, is seeking nominations for the second annual Kevin A. Kelly Child Advocate Award. The award is named for longtime Michigan’s Children board member Kevin A. Kelly, the former executive director of the Michigan State Medical Society, who died in 2008 after decades of service to the children of Michigan in multiple ways. Each year, the Kelly award will be presented to the person or persons who has worked relentlessly, passionately and vigorously on behalf of the vulnerable children of our state and who also display the personal warmth and love that Mr. Kelly showed his entire life. The Kevin A. Kelly Child Advocate Award will be presented at the 10th annual Much Ado About Something Wonderful benefit tentatively scheduled for December 8 at the Country Club of Lansing. The event celebrates exemplary community, legislative and judicial accomplishment on behalf of children. Each year, this special recognition benefit brings together the governmental affairs community and distinguished legislators who help us achieve our vision of making Michigan the best state in America to be a child. The awards recognize those who have particularly distinguished themselves on behalf of children. More details about the event, including ticket sales and sponsorship information, will be posted soon at www.michiganschildren.org. If you know someone to nominate for this prestigious award, please contact the president/CEO of Michigan’s Children, Jack Kresnak, at (517) 485-3500 or jack@michiganschildren.org.
