In its third year this year the event raised $8,000 for Parent Project MD in cooperation with Mitchell’s Run Thru Rockford. MacGregor said the idea came up while he and the Peterson family were hanging out by a backyard campfire. “It’ a way to be involved if you aren’t a runner or walker,” MacGregor said. This year’s event was Saturday, August 8, a rainy day. Sandy Peterson, Mitchell’s mother, praised participants. “It was pouring rain at 8 a.m. and of 50 teams, only one didn’t show up,” she said. “It was a great turnout. We were very lucky to have Score let us take over that part of their business. They were very generous,” Peterson said. Co-chairs of the event are Bill Jackson and Jeff Hartnagel.
