LiveStatue and Friends in Top 25 at ArtPrize

The cast of LiveStatue and Friends (vote 49491) all hailing from Sparta are currently in the Top 25 exhibits in the Center City neighborhood of the Grand Rapids ArtPrize competition.  LifeStatue and Friends art form is categorized as “performance art”.  Pictured at the B.O.B., in a work of art titled “Under Construction”, is LiveStatue Robert Shangle standing on a pedestal in the foreground flanked by his son, statue apprentice Jasper Shangle (L) and a real statue, A.R.T. (R), both on scaffolding in the background.  Actually, if you didn’t know otherwise, you couldn’t tell the two living statues from the real statue.  The only difference is the two real guys occasionally take a work break and sometimes change positions.  You have to see it to believe it!
