Motorcyclist leaves crash, ‘didn’t mean to freak everyone out’

July 15, 2010 By Squire News Leave a Comment
The Rockford Michigan State Police (MSP) Canine officer and dog search for a missing rider who crashed a motorcycle (pictured behind officer) Wednesday, July 7 around 4:30 p.m. on Young Avenue just south of Tem Mile Road. When police and paramedics showed up at the single-vehicle accident scene, the driver had disappeared. MSP brought in the canine unit to try and track the missing, possibly injured driver. The rider showed up about 45 minutes later with ripped jeans, a bandaged hand and a washcloth on his head. He told officials he had a friend drive him to get bandaged up after the crash and “didn’t mean to freak everyone out.”
