Rockford Rams Girl’s Volleyball Team
The Rockford volleyball team concluded their OK Red conference schedule with perfection by beating Jenison in the final match of the regular season. The Rams finished 7-0 and are ready to compete in the OK Red tournament, which takes place this Saturday, Oct. 30. Tournament action holds weight in the final standings as the Rams look to win their first ever OK Red title in school history. The Rams took care of the Jenison Wildcats in three sets in this best-of-five match. Jenison made the third set interesting, as they were fired up and took their game to a higher level, attempting to knock off the number two Class A state-ranked Rams. The third set ended with the Rams beating the Wildcats 30-28 in a win-by-two match-up to 25. The Rams celebrated the win against Jenison quickly, knowing they still have to perform at a high level in OK Red conference tournament action. The girls have done well in the regular season, but still have work ahead. They’ll be prepared for the challenge of finishing what they’ve started. The Rams play this Saturday at East Kentwood High School in the OK Red tournament, and then will begin district play at Lowell High School next week.
