For $1,000 in gas… Hunters, on your mark! The race to find the hand-crafted Cannon Coin is underway. This week the organizers of the annual Cannon Treasure Hunt present the public with the first two clues to lead to a prize of $1,000 in gas. Clue One: You may need Obi-Wan Kenobi too, ‘cause this year’s coin is sure hard to view. Clue Two: A knowledge of geometry will aid in your quest – he who knows it will corner the rest. The Cannon Coin is hidden somewhere in Cannon Township on public (not private!) property. Over the next several weeks clues will be released leading searchers closer to the coin’s location. Each Tuesday the new clues will be released at the following businesses: ChoiceOne Bank, Ric’s Food Center, Bostwick Bakery, Euro Autowerks, Stites Eye Care, David P. Fischer, DDS, PC, Lake Side Hair Design, Acme Tire and Auto, Jim Razmus-Allstate Insurance, Rockford Kitchen Design, Bailey’s Quick Lube, Dave’s Transmission, and Pizzeria Grandé. The following websites will also release the clues, and Participating businesses who are not releasing clues are Morris Builders, Inc., and Herrington Disposal. The clues will also be published here in The Squire. Good luck!
